Breathing for Better Ageing
We're all ageing right now, but are age-related health issues as inevitable as we believe?
Time & Location
11 Jul, 12:30 – 13:30 BST
About the event
Ageing isn’t a life event, but rather a life process. How we live on a day-to-day basis is immensely influential in determining how we experience life as our chronological ages increase. Stress, sleep and recovery from injury or illness are key factors in this and how we breathe can affect all three, sometimes profoundly.
This workshop explains how and why breathing can make a difference and you take away some of the breathing exercises that can
- Help you to respond better to stress and feelings of anxiety
- Improve sleep duration and quality
- Oxygenate tissues and organs more effectively, not just to support recovery but also to make functional movement more accessible and appealing
The workshop will be delivered by certified breathing instructors Annette and Graham Henry. Aside from their training, each of them has personal reasons for knowing the value of breathing better. Graham is now running more and better than he used to, and Annette is finally sleeping better after having insomnia for most of her adult life. Neither of them expected improvements of this nature as they turned 60. It is never too late to make changes to our breathing patterns, but why wait until there are problems to reverse? Breathing better can make valuable changes at every stage of life.
